Weeks Split the Weekend at Home

September 23The Weeks Major Midgets fell to the Valley Wildcats in a 5-0 decision at home on Saturday. Ben Gibbon stopped 28 shots and the Weeks shut down the Wildcats PP on 3 occasions but still left the game scoreless.
 
September 24The boys rallied on Sunday and defeated the Cole Harbour Wolfpack 5-2 to take 2 points for the weekend.  Mason Hawley started the parade when he lit up the scoreboard 3 minutes into the game with the help of Justin Hardie and Ben Fraser.  Blake Kontuk nailed his first of his Major Midget career at the midway mark of the first with Wayne Denny and Oliver Schnare adding assists.  Hardie followed up with his first Major Midget goal with 5:57 left in the first with Ben Williams and Ryan MacLennan setting him up.  Callum Bouma fired one past the Wolfpack’s goalie short-handed assisted by Ben Williams and  Ben Fraser with 12:39 left in the second.  The Wolfpack answered with a PP goal around the 6 minute mark, but Hardie and Fraser each added another apple to their pile when they fed the puck to Lucas Fabijancic with 5:43 left on the clock in the second.  The Wolfpack bounced one over Andrew MacLeod’s pad shortly after, but he and the Weeks D-Men kept the wolves off the scoreboard for the rest of the game and held the 5-2 victory.  MacLeod stopped 37 shots in total for another win.  Lucas Fabijancic looked “Fabs”ulous in the hardhat following a hard fought game.
