WEEKS DROP A PAIR IN VALLEY

The Weeks Major Midgets travelled to Berwick October 28th and 29th and fell to the Valley Wildcats in back to back games.

Game 1 saw the Weeks take a strong early lead when Justin Hardie knocked a pass from Ben Williams and Colin MacGillivray behind the Valley net minder to light up the scoreboard late in the first. Lucas Fabijancic followed suit 30 seconds later when he nailed a pass from the blue line on a nice set up from Carson Lanceleve and Marc Aucoin to double the Weeks' lead. The Wildcats answered in the second with a goal that cut the lead by half, but Marc Aucoin rifled one top shelf with less than a minute left in the second to widen the gap with Rowan Sears and Carson Lanceleve assisting (his second of the night). The third period belonged to the Wildcats as they netted 4 more, leaving the Weeks with a 5-3 loss. Andrew MacLeod stopped 22 pucks to keep the game close.

Game 2 ended with the Wildcats capitalizing on power plays in both the first and the second periods to leave with a 2-0 win over the Weeks. Ben Gibbon saved 30 shots and shut the Cats out in the third period.

The Weeks will have Saturday this weekend, then host the Cape Breton Unionized Tradesmen on Sunday at 2pm at the Pictou County Wellness Center
